History of the Acadiana .NET User Group

The Acadiana .NET User Group was started in November 2007. We are the first user group in the Lafayette area to focus on Microsoft .NET Technologies.

The Acadiana .NET User Group is the premiere .NET resource in the Acadiana area. Our mission is to facilitate education and knowledge exchange among developers, architects and managers with an interest in Microsoft's .NET technologies. We are a world-class user group, featuring world-class events and speakers.

Come join us at our meetings to learn about .NET technologies, network with your peers and have some fun. We'd love to meet you!

The services and events we offer include:

- Approximate 12+ meetings a year - Industry-leading speakers - Thousands of dollars worth of products and books have been given away at our meetings.

We have worked hard to become the premier community-based .NET resource in the Acadiana area. Our meetings are informative, with industry-leading speakers, food and drinks are provided for free, and they're a great place to network with your peers. We learn a lot, and we have fun doing it. Info about User Group Leaders:

Corey J Gaudin

He is a Senior Software Developer and a Software Architect that primarily focuses on the .NET Platform with a heavy focus on Web Services/SOA for Business Domains. He is primarily using ASP.NET MVC, Silverlight 4, and currently moving to .NET 4.0 in several projects. He primarily uses the WCF Platform in all of my projects to achieve high availability and decoupling He also is working on my MCP: EAD and hoping for a MVP in Silverlight.

He is primarily focused on the community and communication with the User Group members, coordinating the events, and the Web Portal for the site. He also manages the monthly SWAG at our meetings.

He has recently moved his blog from Polymorphicview.blogspot.com to the articles for this site to keep it up-to-date and informative.

Carlos Femmer

He is is Project Manager and IDS Supervisor of John Chance Land Survey. He is interested in all things .NET and is primarily focused on Silverlight and ESRI tools. He is a focus on programming and GIS Development. He also thinks he funny, but most definately has a great sense of humor.

He primarily focuses on marketing of the User Group, as well as coordinating speakers for events, as well as sponsors. He manages booking the User Group meetings, as well as sponsors for each event.
